Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel (1805-1847), sister of Felix Mendelssohn, was a virtuoso pianist and a composer of considerable merit who wrote songs, chamber works, and choral works. But her enduring reputation as a composer rests with her piano music. This volume is the first American publication of her important early works reproduced directly from rare first editions.
