Orchestral Strings
Offering in-person instruction
I'm Carrie Gray, and I've had the incredible opportunity to teach strings for many years in the Appleton Area School District. But my passion for teaching music goes way back—I started my journey teaching piano and string instruments at Northeast Wisconsin Talent Education, an amazing Suzuki emphasis school in Green Bay.
When I'm not teaching, you might catch me performing with some incredible symphonies. I've had the honor of playing with both the Green Bay Symphony and the Fox Valley Symphony, where I've had the chance to bring music to life with my strings.
My dedication to music education led me to achieve a Bachelor of Music Education degree from UW-Eau Claire and a Master of Music Education with Suzuki Emphasis from UW-Stevens Point. These experiences have shaped me as a teacher and musician, and I'm thrilled to share my knowledge and passion with my students.
So, whether you're just starting on your musical journey or looking to take your skills to new heights, I'm here to guide you every step of the way.
Jerad M.
Violin
Offering in-person instruction
I'm Jerad, and my passion for music led me to earn a Bachelor's in Music Performance from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Teaching is my way of giving back and inspiring the next generation of musicians. I offer private Suzuki lessons and conduct group classes to create a well-rounded and enriching learning experience.
My approach to teaching revolves around providing students with the proper techniques for long-term development. We'll work on essential aspects like tone production, ear training, note reading, and music theory. I believe in making learning easy and enjoyable for my students, ensuring that each lesson is a delightful musical journey.
Teaching students of all ages and skill levels is something I truly cherish. I've been fortunate to study under expert teachers and Suzuki teacher trainers from around the world, including Joanne Bath, Edmond Sprunger, Steve Bjella, and Kyoko Fuller, who was a student of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki himself in Japan.
Aside from teaching, I've had the privilege of performing with various orchestras as a 1st violinist, assistant concert master, and concert master. Presently, I'm a proud continual member of the Fox Valley Symphony as a violinist, where I get to indulge in my love for orchestral music.
Additionally, I've had the opportunity to coach the Fox Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra violin section, allowing me to share my knowledge and expertise with aspiring young musicians.
