Description
The PIRASTRO KorfkerRest redefines the classic shoulder rest with bendable maple and ultra-light rubber feet, resulting in an extremely lightweight and comfortable accessory that enhances the violin's sound. Weighing only 32 grams for the violin model and 40 grams for the viola model, the KorfkerRest allows for greater freedom of sound and expression compared to traditional rests. This innovative design stems from the technologies used in the PIRASTRO KorfkerCradle, aiming to minimize the sound disturbances caused by heavier rests made of rubber, plastic, or metal.
- The world’s lightest shoulder rest (32 grams)
- First shoulder rest using bendable tone wood adjustable to the shape of the shoulder
- Offers extensive and very precise personal modifications of position, height and tilt
- Brings out a much wider dynamic range from the instrument
- Allows a richer diversity in articulation
- Finer variations in string contact can be felt
- Minimal use of rubber improves sound characteristics
- Designed to complement the timeless beauty of the violin
Incorporating the discoveries made during the development of the KorfkerCradle, the KorfkerRest features a high-quality tone wood maple bridge and a special alloy aluminum for the legs, chosen for their neutral impact on sound and minimal resistance to vibrations. A sound-neutral varnish was also developed to allow the wood complete freedom without affecting the sound spectrum. The lightweight design, combined with thin rubber pads, ensures minimal sound absorption, while the optimized attachment system ensures full contact with the violin's edge, reducing the influence on the instrument's sound and providing a stable, aesthetically pleasing rest.
