Donations

Schools, nonprofit organizations, community organizations, arts groups, churches, and other eligible organizations are welcome to apply. Heid Music and the Heid Family Foundation do not provide donations or grants directly to individuals. We request a focus on music education as a primary initiative.

Depending on the organization, event or initiative, support may take many forms, including:

• Event sponsorships
• In-kind donations
• Gift cards and raffle items
• Advertising or promotional support
• Event participation
• Heid Music merchandise
• Collaborative partnerships

Each request is considered individually to determine the most appropriate and meaningful way Heid Music may be able to help.

The Heid Family Foundation is a charitable fund established by Heid Music founder Peter "Duke" Heid and administered through the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region. It provides grants to eligible nonprofit organizations, schools and other qualified tax-exempt organizations.

There is no separate application. Our Community Giving Team will determine whether your request may be considered through Heid Music, the Heid Family Foundation or both.

Please submit all Community Giving requests through our online request form. Using the form helps ensure your request reaches our Community Giving Team with the information needed for thoughtful and timely consideration.

Once submitted, we’ll take it from there.

Please share details about your organization, event or initiative, who it serves, timing, the type of support you are requesting, and opportunities for Heid Music to participate, collaborate or be recognized.

Please also provide complete contact information, including the appropriate name, email, phone number and mailing address for questions, follow-up or billing, when applicable.

For sponsorships or advertising opportunities, include applicable deadlines, recognition and promotional details, ad specifications and sizes, billing or payment information, and anything else needed for participation.

Supporting materials, sponsorship packages, event information, ad specifications or other relevant documents may be attached directly to the Community Giving request form. Please include all information and attachments with your online request rather than sending materials separately. Providing complete information helps our Community Giving Team understand the opportunity, respond efficiently and determine how Heid Music may be able to help.

Please submit requests at least 60 days in advance of your event, initiative or applicable deadline. Earlier submissions are encouraged when sponsorships, advertising, event participation or other collaboration may require additional planning.

We review Community Giving requests based on a combination of factors, including:

• Alignment with Heid Music’s mission, values and Community Giving priorities
• Connection to music education, arts enrichment and opportunities to experience, learn and make music
• Potential community impact and who will benefit
• Connection to the communities Heid Music serves
• Opportunities for collaboration, engagement and ongoing relationships
• The type and level of support requested
• Timing and our ability to participate
• Available Community Giving resources

No single factor determines a decision. With the number and variety of requests we receive, our goal is to direct available resources where Heid Music can make a meaningful impact and contribute as a community partner.

Because we receive many Community Giving requests throughout the year, we work to be thoughtful about how and where we can provide support. While each request is considered individually, we generally do not support requests that:

• Benefit a single individual or family rather than an organization, school or community initiative
• Are submitted fewer than 60 days before the event, initiative or applicable deadline
• Do not align with Heid Music’s mission, values or Community Giving priorities
• Duplicate or closely follow support recently provided to the same organization

The Heid Family Foundation provides grants only to eligible charitable organizations and does not make grants or donations directly to individuals.

Our Community Giving resources are limited and distributed among many organizations and initiatives throughout the year. Meeting eligibility guidelines does not guarantee support. Requests are considered based on alignment, community impact, timing, the type and amount of support requested, and available resources.

Yes. Organizations may submit more than one request during the year. When possible, we encourage you to share an annual overview of your key programs, events and sponsorship opportunities so we can better understand your priorities and identify opportunities for broader collaboration.
Because Community Giving resources are shared among many organizations and initiatives, previous support does not guarantee future support, and we may not be able to accommodate multiple requests from the same organization.

Community Giving is about more than a single donation or sponsorship. We value relationships that create opportunities for both Heid Music and our community partners to connect, engage and extend the impact of the work we are doing together.
When appropriate, recognition or collaboration may include:

• Social media mentions and tags
• Collaborative or co-branded content
• Event signage and logo placement
• Program acknowledgements or stage recognition
• Opportunities for Heid Music to participate or engage at an event
• Other mutually agreed-upon sponsorship benefits

We also welcome opportunities to stay connected beyond a single event through introductions, collaborative programming, volunteer opportunities, networking and other ways we can help one another strengthen music, education and our communities.
